The joy of serving others enhances your Christian life. That's why we offer a wide spectrum of ministries in which you can be involved. There are countless opportunities within each of our ministries for you to use the unique gifts and talents God has given you. Welcome Center
The Welcome Center Ministry is available before and after church services to help and serve members and visitors. Welcome Center workers answer questions, give directions and distribute materials.

Guest Follow-up
We follow up each visitor that visits us for Sunday morning worship with a phone call to let them know we are glad they joined us and a letter from the pastor containing vital information about the church and salvation. Our goal is to make visitors feel welcome, lend a listening ear if they have problems, and help get them connected, if they have interest in become involved in one of our many ministries.

Ushers
The Ushers Ministry assists the Pastor by seating people as they enter the Sanctuary, receiving offerings and serving Communion.

Home Bound & Nursing Home Visitation
Home Bound Visitation
The Homebound Visitation program visits members and family members of the congregation on a
bi-monthly schedule. This ministry visits an average of 18 individuals in in their homes per month.

Nursing Home Visitation
The Nursing Home Visitation program visits members, family members of the congregation and individuals that have no family connection on a weekly basis as time permits. This ministry visits an average of 200 individuals in 11 nursing homes per month.

The responsibilities of the Visitation programs are to:
1. Establish visitation dates and times on a regular basis.
2. Discuss recent Sunday School lessons
3. Deliver a current audio tape of our church service.
4. Give words and cards of encouragement to each person visited.
5. Pray with each person visited.
6. Determine if there are any needs (i.e. grass mowed, house cleaned, transportation to doctor visits, grocery shopping, etc.)
7. Report back the persons visited as well as any needs or concerns.

Funeral & Bereavement
If you've lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you've probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. In times of grief and sorrow, our pastoral staff reaches out to help during this most difficult time to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time. Intercessory Prayer
Sumiton Ministries Intercessory Prayer Ministry asks godly, committed men and women to set aside time in concentrated prayer for the needs of our nation, church, Pastor, missionaries, and the lost. Those who make this commitment are supplied with prayer requests of a varied nature through our church office. Many individuals have shared that this ministry has resulted in a deeper personal walk with the Lord Jesus Christ as they have drawn closer to Him in times of praise, confession, intercession, and adoration. Nursery Workers
We strongly believe that every child at Sumiton Ministries is a blessing and a gift from God and we vow to nurture and help them grow in the faith. We feel that we can best serve all our children and their families by providing a safe, loving, enriching and supervised Christian environment. Call the church office to help with this ministry.

Youth Volunteers
Both the Junior Varsity and Senior Youth Ministry are always in need of volunteers to help with their ministries. If you would like to learn more about these ministries, please click here.
