A wide variety of ministry opportunities exist at Sumiton.  We encourage you to scan the possibilities and get involved!

Bus Ministry

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening, busses and vans are used to transport young people to and from church.

Children's Ministry

Sundays and Wednesdays, as well as special events through the year, witness a powerful emphasis on children.  Sunday School classes, Wednesday night learning centers, Choirs, Vacation Bible Schools, a great time at the "Depot," all combine to make Sumiton a special place for kids.

Congregational Health

A minstry designed to help moniter the physical well being of our constituents.  This group will check your blood pressure, help screen you for debilitating disease, even chide you a little about being overweight!

 Connections

A ministry designed for those "about" 25-45 years old, this ministry provides numerous ministry and fellowship opportunities for those who are looking for a place to connect.

First Impressions

A ministry where we seek to give a good "first impression."  Whether it's giving somone a ride from thier car to the door, a friendly greeting once inside, or just finding out where the restrooms are, this ministry is there to make sure everyone feels right at home.

Food Bank

Every month hundreds of people are touched as our food bank distrubutes "daily bread" to those in need.

Hispanic Church

Sumiton has a totally independed Hispanic Church which meets each Sunday night in the Family Life Center at 6:00 PM.  All services are conducted in Spanish.

Ladies Ministry

Ladies Ministry plays a vital role at Sumiton.  Everything from fellowship opportunities to a special ladies service every third Sunday night exist just so the women of the church can find and fill their God given callings.

Mens Ministry

Various groups of mens teams exist to enable men to connect and complete their tasks in Christ.  From breakfasts, wild game feasts, and other fellowship opportunities to the hard work of repairing buildings, men at Sumiton are seeking to fulfill the mandate to become disciples of Christ.

Missions

We believe in the Great Commission. Our goal is to be involved around the world.  Various missions projects are always underway at Sumiton.  Whether it's Israel, South America, Africa, China or Europe, no location on our planet is outside the reach of missions and we are determined to be an extension of Christ!

Narcotics Annonymous

This group, devoted to overcoming a narcotics addiction, as well as other addictive patterns, meets each Monday and Friday night.

Scouting

A scouting program is provided for young men who want to experience the lifestyle of the Boyscouts of America.  We are proud to have produced Eagle Scouts, the highest ranking available, from our ministry.

Seniors

Sumiton is blessed to have vibrant Senior ministry.  A travelling choir, various "meet and eat" gatherings, regular fellowship times, all combine to provide Seniors with ample opportunities to get involved and make new friends.

Sumiton Christian School

We have on campus a wonderful Christian school.  Accredited from kindergarten through high school, Sumiton Christian ranks as one of the great educational opportunities in the region.

Sunday School

Every Sunday morning, regardless of age, discipleship opportunities exist throughout the campus.  Classes range from age specific groups to interest level opportunities.

Wednesday Nights

Each Wednesday night a series of small group discipleship meeting occur.  Ongoing studies include special groups for women, young women, a general Bible study, and various special needs.

Unto These

Each week, ministry extends outside the campus "unto these" who are unable to attend.  Prisons, nursing homes, those shut in, a rehab facility for young men, all are touched weekly by caring ministry team members.

Worship Arts

A large and important ministry area, everything from music, drama, sound and lights, this wing of ministry affects hundreds of people each week and sets the tone for worship.

Youth Ministry

Sumiton has for decades been noted for ministry to youth.  That devotion has not slacked at all.  Young people from all ages, middle school through college, are given open doors for the myriad of ministry needs they encounter.
